By using this site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site. We change these terms from time to time, so please check them when you visit.

Our privacy notice also applies, and sets out how we handle any personal information you give us.

The tools on this site

The Readiness Index, the Rinsing Diagnostic and What’s YOUR Because? are provided free and as they are. They are diagnostic aids, not professional advice.

They produce a view based on what you type into them. That view is a prompt for a conversation inside your organisation, not a finding, a valuation, an audit or a recommendation. Do not make an investment, employment or commercial decision on the strength of a result from one of them without taking proper advice.

We give no warranty that a result is accurate, complete or suited to your situation, and we are not liable for what is decided on the back of one.

Information on this site

The content here is general information. Where we publish numbers from past experiments, they are the numbers as we recorded them at the time, and we say on the page where we have recalculated a figure from its own underlying counts. Past results are not a promise of future ones.

We make reasonable efforts to keep the site current but we do not warrant that everything on it is accurate or up to date.

Availability

The site is provided free of charge. We do not guarantee it will always be available or uninterrupted, and we may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it.

Our content

We own or license all intellectual property rights in this site and its content, including the Because, Someone, Will notation, the Readiness Index and the Rinsing Diagnostic. Those rights are reserved.

You may print or download extracts for your own use and share them within your organisation, provided you do not alter them and you acknowledge us as the author. You may not use any part of this site commercially without our permission.

You are welcome to run the Readiness Index or the Rinsing Diagnostic inside your own organisation. You may not resell them, publish them as your own, or build a competing product from them.

Acceptable use

You may use this site only for lawful purposes. You must not use it in any way that breaks the law, is fraudulent, or is harmful, defamatory, obscene or offensive.

You must not copy, republish, resell, mirror or create derivative works from the site, attempt to reverse engineer it, remove our marks or notices, use it to build a competing product, or use it to send unsolicited advertising.

You must not knowingly introduce viruses or other harmful material, attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site or its servers, or attack it. Doing so is a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990 and we will report it.

Our responsibility to you

We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

If you are a business user, we exclude all implied conditions, warranties and other terms that might apply to this site, and we are not liable for loss of profits, sales, business or revenue, business interruption, loss of anticipated savings, loss of business opportunity, goodwill or reputation, or any indirect or consequential loss, arising from your use of or reliance on this site.

If you are a consumer, this site is provided for private use. If defective digital content we supply damages your device and this was caused by our failure to use reasonable care and skill, we will repair the damage or pay you compensation.

Anything we go on to agree with you commercially will be governed by that separate agreement, not by these terms.

Sites we link to

Where we link to other sites, that is for information only and is not an endorsement. We have no control over their content.

Viruses

We do not guarantee this site is free from bugs or viruses. You are responsible for your own virus protection.

Linking to us

You may link to this site provided you do so fairly and legally and do not suggest any association or endorsement that does not exist. Do not frame the site within another.

Governing law

These terms, their subject matter and their formation are governed by English law, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings there.
